Also known as thiamine, vitamin B1 is one of the eight B vitamins and is water-soluble. It was named B1 because it was the first B vitamin discovered in the 1930s. The human body cannot produce B1 vitamin and it must be obtained from external sources. In our country, the daily requirement for B1 vitamin (thiamine) for healthy individuals aged 4 and above is determined as 1.1 mg.
